Join the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership (SGP) an Join the Susquehanna Greenway Partnership (SGP) and Pennsylvania Master Naturalist (PMN) for the Paddler’s Toolkit workshop on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Dietrich Theater in Tunkhannock to complete a two-part training course that will cover the ins and outs of preparing for and undertaking a paddling trip on the Susquehanna River, as well as an introduction on local river ecology. The workshop to be held in Tunkhannock this year will be adapted and tailored to the local landscape along the Susquehanna River’s North Branch. Registration is just $15 with kayak rentals also available.

The EMHR is proud to have been able to donate $750 The EMHR is proud to have been able to donate $750 to the Canton Area Elementary School and Canton FFA for the procurement of the Mobile Ag Ed Science Lab and their Farms to Arms event last night! What a great event to teach our youth about the importance of agriculture and all it provides!
A bit of a late post, but we wanted to extend our A bit of a late post, but we wanted to extend our thanks to our state's first Director of Outdoor Recreation, Dr. Nathan Reigner, for being the keynote speaker at the Northern Tier Regional Planning and Development Commission full commission meeting on Friday. The event was held at Susquehanna County's beautiful new public safety building. We look forward to working with Dr. Reigner on our outdoor recreation efforts and events!

Our 2022 Partnership/Mini-Grants Program is offici Our 2022 Partnership/Mini-Grants Program is officially open! We'll be accepting applications April 1 through May 2! Our four counties, as well as the 501c3 non-profits, municipalities and public schools within them, are all eligible for funding! Proposed projects should relate to EMHR's goals and mission, like historic preservation, outdoor recreation development, historical and environmental educational programming, land and water trail conservation, etc. You can learn more about our grant program and retrieve all necessary applications documents/forms at: www.emheritage.org. These were during today's snow storm as we hiked along the O&W Rail-Trail, the Panther Creek Nature Preserve and the D&H Rail-Trail. We couldn't just have a meeting at the visitors center and NOT explore the park! It was rather icy on the trail, but stunning nevertheless! @padcnr #Trails #OutdoorRecreation

It was a bit frigid, but we saw such incredible sc It was a bit frigid, but we saw such incredible scenery at Salt Springs State Park in Susquehanna County. Thanks to Dana Rockwell for joining us on some trail scouting for a two-day hiking event we'll be doing in June with Friends of Salt Springs Park as part of our 2022 Susquehanna County Hikes & Bikes series! Stay tuned for more on that! We did around 5 miles yesterday with some ice cleats on our feet and plenty of layers on to stay warm in the 20-degree weather. The falls were so amazing in their frozen form! Salt Springs is a truly remarkable place no matter what time of year. #IceHike #EMHR #SaltSprings
The EMHR donated $1,000 to the French Azilum Histo The EMHR donated $1,000 to the French Azilum Historic Site today, Dec. 9, which was funding raised during our Fall Heritage Paddle held in October. It was a great single-day paddle that took the 40+ participants from the Bradford County Outboard Motor Club in Durrell to @endlessmountainoutfitters in Sugar Run. Thanks to everyone who joined us and helped benefit the Azilum! Late post, but we had a wonderful time at @keyston Late post, but we had a wonderful time at @keystonecollege on Friday for the NEPA Trails Forum where we heard from multiple organizations and regions about ongoing trail projects across the state. We finished the meeting by checking out the Woodlands Campus Trails and Trolley Trail around the college. Great to see everyone!

This morning, we dedicated our updated Bradford Co This morning, we dedicated our updated Bradford County Heritage Signage at Sayre Borough and Towanda Borough to the late Commissioner Ed Bustin, a beloved member of the EMHR Board of Directors who tragically passed in April 2020. This signage features all of the county's heritage sites, including state, county and local parks; museums and historical societies; historic monuments and sites; scenic overlooks, the Susquehanna River water trail and more! We thank the @visitbradfordcounty Bradford County Tourism Promotion Agency for the room tax grant that made this project possible, our heritage signage committee, the @bradfordcountypa Commissioners, the Bradford County Planning Department and the @padcnr for their support as well! Perfect water levels, gorgeous weather and a lot of great sight seeing, include multiple bald eagles!
